Polys arrive in america before columbus

hey y'all... long time no post, i know!

i'm really, really sorry but as i've whined many a times before, things have just been so busy lately. the house is coming along, that is, i've emptied the boxes! ;) that and my son is out of school for the summer and so he's looking to me to fill up all the spare time that he now has! :)

anyway, i'm really very, very happy, and VERY surprised to see people actually reading my blog! wow! its just a few but seriously, i thought this wouldn't reach anyone's radar.

i really appreciate the visits and comments, kind and otherwise. i have to say that just about all of the polys (and non-polys that are interested in the poly culture) that i come into contact with over the internet have been nothing but nice, helpful, supportive, and truly beautiful. it's great to see that positive poly spirit from people all over the world. all i can say is wow!!

anyway, onto this article that i came across the other day. its about the idea of polynesians arriving to southern cali a millennium before christopher columbus arrived on the east coast. interesting thing is that the key evidence is from carbon dating an ancient headdress used by chumash indians from so cali as well as a chumash word for "sewn-plank canoe" that is apparently derived from a polynesian word for the wood used to construct the same boat.

anyhoot, the theory of ancient polys visiting southern cali is known as the "transpacific diffusion" hypothesis, and apparently its a controversial hypothesis, so contraversial that the scientists that made these discoveries had major trouble getting their article revealing the new evidence posted into an archaeological journal for two years.

i'll stop spilling the beans but the article is really an interesting read. check it out when you get a chance and take care everyone! ;)
